Is Adacolumn® a treatment well accepted by the patient?

Regarding the safety, but also the tolerance of apheresis, we have a very good experience, but our patients also have this feedback. And this means that usually patients can have some questions about this therapy because it is different from other medical therapies or biological therapies, and they can be sometimes with some questions. But I have to say that this therapy is usually very well tolerated. Patients only need to have a very careful hydration before the therapy and this improves the possible headaches that can appear during the therapy, but also, they need to take care of the venous, the vein, the venous success. This is the main concern that we have with this therapy, but apart from this, patients usually tolerate the apheresis sessions very well and they have no major concerns during the therapy or after the therapy. And this was corroborated in a national survey, our patients reported that they were very happy with the therapy. They were also keen to receive another affirmative therapy and even despite using two or two sessions and even longer sessions. So, this feedback also encourages us to use the apheresis and to not to worry about the tolerance of the patients. I mean, they are tolerating all patients are tolerated the first as well, but we are aiming for the efficacy because this is the main driver of the experience of the patient.

When we propose treatment with Adacolumn® to patients who have inflammatory bowel disease, the first response is, let’s say, one of mild surprise and certain amazement until they see first-hand how the treatment mechanism works and what their experience with the treatment itself is like. And most, if not almost all, patients are extremely satisfied, as they find that they tolerate it much better than they imagined, that it generates virtually no side effects and that, if it there are any, they are usually mild and easily manageable.
