How does Adacolumn® behave in the treatment of ileal Crohn’s disease? Is there experience of its use in this scenario?
In the case of ileal Crohn’s disease, which, as most of us who work in this field know, tends to be a rather rebellious form to manage and with a greater refractoriness to the treatments we use, including immunosuppressants or biologics, ileal Crohn’s disease can also be treated with Adacolumn®. Our experience is that the results are satisfactory. It is true that we treat patients with mild-moderate ileal Crohn’s disease, who were not previously treated with immunosuppressants or biologics, and the results have been very satisfactory with clinical normalization, with clinical remission, normalization of analytical parameters, faecal calprotectin and normalization of the pathological ultrasound image that they had before starting treatment. In this sense, as I have said, our experience is satisfactory.
