Can Adacolumn® be used in patients with active neoplasms? With a history of neoplasm?

Patients who have an active neoplasm or who have a history of neoplasm are a special group because, we have to avoid, as far as possible, generating immunosuppression that interferes with the capacity of their immune system to defend against the tumours. Adacolumn®, due to its ability to not interfere significantly, as I mentioned before, in the immune response is a suitable treatment in this type of patient. We have experience in patients who have or who have had neoplasms of various types, both solid organ and haematological neoplasms, and we have not seen any adverse effects nor has the therapy interfered with the evolution and control of their neoplasm.

Adacolumn® can be used in patients with a history of neoplasm and even in patients with active neoplasm. It is an increasingly common situation, in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, as in the rest of the population, the incidence of cancer has been increasing and we have a lot of patients with such a history and we can’t use some of the drugs we use in inflammatory bowel disease. Adacolumn® would be an excellent alternative for this type of patient.
